The drought is over, and NFL football is finally here! With that being said, I've created a parlay based on outcomes that I believe will occur in the first game of the 2023 NFL Season. Let's start with David Montgomery. He was an extremely underrated running back in Chicago but was behind a subpar offensive line. Now, he's part of a team that loves to run the ball behind a great offensive line in Detroit. It's unlikely that Chris Jones will play, which is a huge blow to the Chiefs' defensive line and another reason why Montgomery will run all over them. Just like Jamaal Williams last year, I also think Montgomery will be used as a power running back when the Lions are near the endzone, which is why I've added him to score in the parlay.

Another newcomer to Detroit is rookie running back Jahmyr Gibbs. It seems that Gibbs will be a major part of their passing game as they plan to utilize him as a receiving back. This is why I have Gibbs getting over 25.5 receiving yards - this should be attainable if he catches 3 or 4 passes out of the backfield.

With the recent news of Travis Kelce hyper-extending his knee, Patrick Mahomes needs to create magic with his legs in the rushing stat column. He's going to be scrambling out of the pocket and making plays throughout the entire game, which is why I believe he can get over 15 rushing yards. This Kelce injury, along with Chris Jones not playing, also makes me believe that the Lions have a much easier path to victory and will almost certainly keep this game close, if not win it.
